Drive-In Pallet Racking
Drive-In Pallet Racking is a high-density warehouse storage system designed for storing large quantities of similar products with low SKU variety. By eliminating multiple working aisles, the system maximizes storage capacity and makes full use of available warehouse space.
In a Drive-In configuration, forklifts enter directly into the storage lanes to load and retrieve pallets. This compact storage design is widely used in cold storage facilities, food warehouses, manufacturing plants, and bulk inventory operations where storage density is a priority.
Drive-In Racking is particularly suitable for LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) inventory management and warehouses handling palletized goods in large volumes.
Configuration & Flexibility
Our Drive-In Racking systems are available in single-entry and double-entry configurations, depending on warehouse layout and operational requirements.
The system uses deep storage lanes with pallet support rails mounted on both sides, allowing forklifts to drive directly into the rack structure for pallet handling.
Compared with standard selective pallet racking, Drive-In systems can significantly reduce aisle space and increase storage density by up to 60%–80%.
This makes it an efficient storage solution for warehouses with limited floor space and high-volume pallet storage requirements.

Key Benefits

Drive-In Racking – FAQ
What is drive-in pallet racking used for?
Drive-In pallet racking is used for high-density storage of large quantities of similar products. It is commonly used in warehouses where maximizing storage capacity is more important than direct access to every pallet.
What is the difference between drive-in and selective pallet racking?
Selective pallet racking provides direct access to every pallet, while drive-in racking stores pallets in deep lanes to maximize storage density. Drive-in systems reduce aisle space and are better suited for bulk storage operations.
Is drive-in racking suitable for cold storage warehouses?
Yes. Drive-In Racking is widely used in cold storage and frozen food warehouses because its high-density layout helps reduce refrigerated space requirements and improves storage efficiency.
How deep can drive-in racking systems be?
Drive-In storage lanes are typically designed for 2 to 10 pallets deep, depending on warehouse layout, forklift operation, and inventory requirements.
What inventory management method does drive-in racking support?
Drive-In Racking mainly supports LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) inventory management. For FIFO operations, Drive-Through Racking configurations can be used instead.
